MaDocs warns public vs groups making fake COVID-19 test results

The Manila Doctors Hospital (MaDocs) warned the public against groups which are offering to make fake Real-Time Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) negative test results.

"It has come to our attention that certain individuals and/or groups are offering fake RT-CPR negative test results," the hospital said in an advisory on Tuesday (March 30).

"They also claim that you do not need to undergo actual swabbing procedure to acquire results," it added.

An individual needs to undergo the swabbing procedure first at a DOH-accredited institution before getting authentic test results.

The hospital said all of the COVID-19 RT-CPR results that they release have a QR code unique to each patient.

To verify the authenticity of the test result, the QR code can be scanned, which will go to the hospital's website where the patient's information and the result may be viewed.

"Let us continue to help one another and curb the transmission of the virus by getting RT-PCR tests at DOH-accredited institutions," the hospital said.
