A 32-year-old Filipino-American woman was found dead in Portland, Oregon.

According to a post by the Beaverton Police Department on Facebook on September 7, the woman, identified as Melissa Jubane, was a cardiac nurse at St. Vincent Hospital in Southwest Portland.
Beaverton Police reported that at around 10:18 a.m. on September 4, they received a report that Jubane had not shown up for her morning shift, raising concerns among her coworkers, family, and friends.
Officers then went to Jubane's residence at 1050 Southwest 160th Avenue in Beaverton.
Upon arrival, they were met by apartment complex staff to search her apartment, but Jubane was not found inside.
Throughout the day, officers and her family attempted to contact her, but received no response, as her phone appeared to be turned off.
Police added that records of Jubane's bank and credit cards provided no new information regarding her whereabouts.
At around 3:12 p.m., Jubane was turned over into the national law enforcement database as a missing person, police said.
As a result, investigators conducted a thorough search and found Jubane’s body on September 6.
Police determined that one of Jubane’s neighbors, 27-year-old Bryce Jonathan Schubert, who was also a nurse at Providence Portland Medical Center, was involved in her disappearance.
Schubert was subsequently arrested on September 7 and was charged with second-degree murder.
Authorities were able to recover Jubane’s body.
