Netflix announced the title for the documentary series for global girl group Katseye, which includes Sophia Laforteza from the Philippines.
The docuseries’ title is “Pop Star Academy: Katseye,” which will follow Katseye and will be released this summer.
“A year-long process of creating a one-of-a-kind girl group will be the subject of an upcoming Netflix untitled documentary series. With unprecedented access, the series will be a compelling portrayal of the journey to global stardom, including insight into the unique training and development program from HYBE and Geffen Records,” according to Netflix.

Produced by HYBE, Interscope Films and Boardwalk Pictures, the docuseries is directed by award-winning filmmaker Nadia Hallgren, who helmed the Emmy-nominated Netflix documentary “Becoming.”
HYBE and Geffen Records launched the search for the global girl group. A total of 20 contestants were selected to compete.
During the finale last November of "The Debut: Dream Academy" Program, Laforteza won a spot in Katseye.
Laforteza became a member of Katseye along with Lara Rajagopalan (US), Daniela Avanzini (US), Manon Bannerman (Switzerland), Megan Skiendiel (US), and Yoonchae Jeong (South Korea).
“The Debut: Dream Academy” project will debut an international girl group in 2024.
