Cops arrest frat members tagged in the death of college stude due to hazing
Police have arrested eight people tagged in the initiation rites that killed a 19-year old college student in Davao City.
Nabbed was Jeremiah Moya, 23, reportedly the president of Alpha Kappa Rho Delta Chapter; Leji Quibuyen; John Lloyd Sunagang; Harold Flauta; John Steven Silvosa; Ramel Gamo; Gilbert Asoy Jr.; Roseller Gaentano; and George Regalado.
Follow-up operations are now being conducted against the other suspects identified as Ryan James Ranolo, Harold Gocotano, John Bacacao, Cherie Norico, and Kadjo Matobato.
Brig. Gen. Rodolfo Azurin, Jr., chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), said an investigation is also be conducted in order to come up with sufficient pieces of evidence to give justice to the victim identified as August Ceazar Saplot..
HIs body was found in Purok Santo Nino, Sison Village, Upper Mandug, Buhangin, District, Davao City.
Based on the medical reports, Saplot suffered serious injuries on the different parts of his body.
He was with another Victim, 18-year-old Michael Angelo Ligaya, who survived the incident and is now undergoing treatment in a local hospital.
Police responded immediately and conducted an extensive probe into the crime that resulted to the identification of 14 suspects.
Recovered evidences from the crime scene were one leather belt color black and two application form of Alpha Kappa Rho.
