Mayor Honey reminds BSKE candidates to put campaign posters in designated areas
Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan reminded candidates of Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) 2023 to strictly follow the campaign protocols set by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
On Tuesday, Oct. 13, the mayor stressed that the placing of campaign materials in the following public places from Oct. 19 to 28 is strictly prohibited:
- Publicly owned electronic announcement boards like LED display boards, LCD monitors, and other government property;
- Government-owned vehicles such as patrol cars, ambulances, and other vehicles that have government license plates
- Public transportation vehicles owned and controlled by the government such as MRT, LRT, PNR, and other types of public transportation;
- Waiting shed, sidewalk, street and lamp post, electrical post, traffic sign, pedestrian overpass and underpass, flyover and underpass, bridges, streets, center island in streets and highways;
- Schools, public shrines, barangay halls, government offices, health centers, public structures or buildings;
- Public transportation terminals owned and controlled by the government include bus terminals, airports, seaports, docks, piers, train stations, and other terminals
Lacuna-Pangan said that Comelec has assigned common poster areas where the posting of legal campaign materials is allowed.
She said campaign materials are also allowed to be posted in private properties.
