P50k worth of suspected shabu seized in Caloocan sting
About P50,000 worth of suspected shabu were seized from five suspects in a sting operation at Barangay 33 in Maypajo, Caloocan City Tuesday evening.
Arrested were George Morales, 44; Crispin Vizmanos, 59; Rannie Valverde, 36; Edwin Espera, 41; and Karen John Montalban, 34.
Elements of the Northern Police District Special Operations Unit conducted the buy-bust operation against illegal selling of firearms and ammunition at about 8 p.m.
Investigation showed that the suspects were arrested after they sold 20 pieces of caliber .45 live ammunition worth P400 to a poseur buyer.
Fifteen sachets of suspected shabu worth P50,000 were recovered from the suspects.
The 20 pieces of caliber .45 live ammunition and the P400 marked money were also retrieved by the police.
The recovered pieces of evidence were brought to the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory Office at Camp Crame in Quezon City for laboratory examination.
The suspects, who are now under police custody, will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Minka Tiangco)
15-year-old stabbed 5 students over basketball game in QC
Five Grade 9 students were stabbed by a 15-year-old boy inside their campus in Quezon City on Tuesday afternoon.
Lt. Col. Joel Villanueva, chief of Quezon City Police Station 6, said suspect "Gabo," who was also a Grade 9 student of Batasan National High School, is now under custody of a reformation center in the City.
Initial investigation on the incident revealed that one of the victims, "Glen," 15, approached the suspect during their afternoon break around 4:30 p.m. to have a rematch of their basketball game last Sunday where "Gabo" lost.

Not contented, "Gabo" pulled out a kitchen knife and stabbed "Glen" who started running along the school corridor where the suspect also stabbed other students along the way.
The victims, aged 15 to 17, as well as the suspect were immediately brought to the hospital. Four of the victims sustained minor stab wounds, while one of them was stabbed near his liver, police said.
Police failed to recover the kitchen knife used by the suspect. Meanwhile, authorities are looking into possible liability of the school as well as the duty security guard on why the boy was able to bring a weapon inside school premises. (Alexandria San Juan)
Man abducted in Caloocan
The Caloocan City police are now investigating the alleged abduction of a 26-year-old man in Caloocan City on Tuesday afternoon.
P/Col. Noel Flores, Caloocan police chief, said that members of city Police Community Precinct 6 (PCP-6) received a report that a certain Ruel Biag was allegedly abducted outside their house in Barangay 167 at around 2:50 p.m.
Biag's two minor children, who only reported the incident at around 9:45 p.m., told police that their father was taken inside a black sedan, Flores added.
"Nakita ng dalawang anak. Nang pumasok ang mga bata sa loob , wala na raw 'yung sasakyan," the police chief said.
No further details are available as police investigation is ongoing.
Flores said that meanwhile, they are already reviewing the closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in the said barangay to verify the incident. (Joseph Pedrajas)
P3M worth of cash, jewelry robbed from judge
A judge was robbed of some P.3-million worth of cash, jewelry and other personal belonging inside a fitness gym Tuesday afternoon in Pasay City.
Police identified the victim as Bernard Bernal,41, Executive Judge of Branch 74, Taguig Regional Trial Court.
Investigation showed the incident happened at about 3:50 p.m. inside the Fitness First Gym located at MOA Complex, Pasay City.
According to the police, the victim claimed that before going to start with his work out he placed his bag inside locker 549.
The executive judge also told police that after his work out, he went back to the locker room at about 5:04 p.m. to get his bag.
The police said that Bernal told that he was surprised upon seeing the locker 549 where he placed his bag was opened and the padlock was nowhere to be found.
Bernal immediately reported the incident to the gym management and called for police assistance.
Investigation made by the police, they found that there was no CCTV camera inside the locker room and could not identify the culprit.

Quarrel over videoke leads to shooting incident
A barangay tanod gunned down a man who he had a quarrel with over the use of a videoke at Barangay Tonsuya in Malabon City Tuesday evening.
Police identified the victim as Rogelio Brojan, 32, construction worker; and the suspect as Aries Bernabe, of legal age, resident of Barangay Longos, Malabon City.
Investigation showed that Brojan was having a drinking spree with his cousin Dennis Tayo, 33, at about 11:20 p.m. when the suspect went inside the house and shot the victim on different parts of his body.
Brojan was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
According to a report, Bernabe fought with and threatened the victim due to him using the videoke on Sunday night.
Retrieved from the crime scene were five caliber .45 fired cartridge cases, a caliber 9mm fired cartrdige case, and a deformed metallic fragment.
The police have launched a manhunt operation for the arrest of the suspect as investigation is ongoing. (Minka Tiangco)
Three drug suspects arrested in Valenzuela
Five drug suspects, three of them included in the police's drug watchlist, were arrested in a buy-bust operation at Gen. T. De Leon in Valenzuela City Tuesday night.
Arrested were Aldrin Casio, 32, driver, resident of Karuhatan, Valenzuela City; Marites Punla, 24, vendor, resident of Marulas, Valenzuela City; Daylin Danae, 31, garbage collector, resident of Libis Baesa, Caloocan City; Brian Barriga, 48, balut vendor; and Cesar Pacli, 48, jobless; both residents of Ugong, Valenzuela City.
Casio, Punla, and Barriga are all included in the police's drug watchlist.
Joint elements of the Valenzuela City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency conducted the sting at about 7:45 p.m.
Investigation showed that the suspects were arrested after they sold a sachet of suspected shabu worth P200 to a poseur buyer.
Five sachets of suspected shabu, a total of P1,300 in cash, and the P200 marked money were recovered from the suspects.
The retrieved pieces of evidence were brought to the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory Office at Camp Crame in Quezon City for laboratory examination.
