35-min trip from QC to Bulacan shaping up as MRT-7 works reach 60%

A promising 35-minute travel time from Quezon City to Bulacan is fast becoming a reality as works on the Metro Rail Transit Line 7 (MRT-7) reached almost 60 percent completion.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) on Saturday, February 13, said MRT-7 project has already reached 59.82 percent completion rate as of January 31.

Once the 22-kilometer rail line is completed, the DOTr claimed that travel time from North Avenue in Quezon City to San Jose Del Monte in Bulacan will be significantly reduced from two to three hours to just 35 minutes.

It is expected to be completed by the end of 2021.

"The DOTr is pulling in all the stops to ensure that we are able to deliver this modern mass transportation system to the Filipino people," the department said.

Once operational, the 14-station rail line will serve 300,000 to 850,000 passengers per day, with room for capacity expansion to accommodate future increases in ridership.
