Thou shall steal. Thou shall not kill.
Amid allegations of corruption and extra-judicial killings, the Philippine National Police (PNP) has embarked on a spiritual reformation as part of its internal cleansing program.

And in Central Luzon, it starts with the distribution of Bible for all its personnel, according to Brig. Gen. Valeriano de Leon, director of the Police Regional Office 3.
De Leon said the 20,000 pieces of Bible was donated by North Luzon State of Gideons International in the Philippines headed by Bro. Jaime Dela Cruz.
In his speech, dela Cruz said the Bible is a valuable spiritual tool that can bring change into
one’s life. He encouraged police officers to promote the spirit of giving.
De Leon, for his part, said the Bibles will be put to good use as he stressed that it is a special weapon because during the tour of duty, police officers meet various challenges wherein some of which require spiritual intervention.
“This is also very timely because the PNP is now focusing on spiritual reformation in our internal cleansing program,” said de Leon.
Last week, National Police chief Gen. Debold Sinas sought the assistance of the Catholic leadership in Negros Oriental and Occidental to improve not only the peace and order situation in the two provinces but also for the spiritual needs of the policemen.
