BACOLOD CITY - The City Health Office (CHO) is now ready to get the swab samples of 500 people for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)-testing here. According to the Bacolod City Public Information Office, medical frontliners, who are taking care of COVID-19-positive patients; other health workers, contact tracers, policemen, emergency responders, and those who may have been exposed to infected patients will be among the first to be administered the test. Dr. Carmela Gensoli, CHO head, said that they have already swabbed 134 persons, as of April 4 since the CHO began its own testing. Specimens were sent to the DOH biolab, and seven tested positive as earlier reported by the Department of Health (DOH)-6, 97 tested negative, while 30 were still pending at the DOH biolab. The 500 swabs are now available for use in addition to the 134 swabs already done. Specimens will be sent to the DOH-biolab in Iloilo City for processing. Another batch of swabs is expected next week.
