3 drug personalities nabbed
Three alleged drug personalities were nabbed after they fired shots towards three people, including two minors, in Caloocan City Saturday night.
Arrested Argin Catagan, 23, Christopher Garcia, 19, and Axle Rose Davocol, 19, all residents of Barangay 185. Garcia is a newly-identified drug personality in the area, police said.
Around 8 p.m., 39-year-old Crisel Garcia and two minors were walking along St. Joseph Street in Barangay 186, when the three men shot them before fleeing.
Meanwhile, the victims, who all sustained gunshot wounds in the different parts of the body, were brought to Dr. Jose Rodriguez Memorial Hospital where they are currently recuperating.
An hour later, the three suspects were nabbed by responding policemen after they got involved in a riot along Tabon Street.
Authorities recovered from them live ammuniton of caliber. 38 and 12 gauge shotgun and a heat-sealed plastic sachet of suspected shabu.
The arrested men were positively identified by the victims, said case investigator PO1 Bengie Nalogoc.
Appropriate charges will be filed against the three men who are now detained at the Caloocan police detention cell. (Kate Javier)​
3 armed gang members held
Four armed men, including three gang members, were arrested for possession of illegal weapons in separate anti-criminality operations Saturday in Manila.
Police reports identified the suspects as Vincent Autencio, 33, a member of Batang City Jail Gang, Jonas Ruperso, 21, a Bahala Na Gang member and Rafael Cabrido, 18, a member of the Sigue Sigue Sputnik Gang.
Prior to their arrest, elements of the Roxas Blvd. Police Community Precinct led by PSInsp. Dave Garcia were conducting a Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO) around 9:50 p.m. on March 31 when they chanced upon the suspects.
Authorities recovered a .38 caliber revolver from Autencio, a 15-inch icepick from Ruperso and seven pieces of P20 bills used as bet money.
The suspects will face charges for violation of P.D. 1602 or Illegal Gambling while Autencio and Ruperso will face charges for violation of R.O. Sec. 864-C and R.A. 10591 respectively.
Meanwhile, a driver was arrested for possession of an improvised shotgun Saturday in Tondo, Manila.
PO2 Ronald Duenas identified the suspect as Vincente Largado, 38, of Collector's Road, Pier 6, Tondo, Manila.
Prior to his arrest, police officers from the Raxabago Police Station received a call from a concerned citizen, complaining about a disturbance in their area, apparently caused by Largado.
PO1 James Balacanao and PO1 Gilbert Rellores then responded to the scene located at Sta. Fe corner Pacheco St. Brgy. 118, Tondo, Manila at around 9:10 p.m. and spotted the suspect holding an improvised shotgun with one live ammunition,. Largado is currently under the custody of the Raxabago Police Station and will face appropriate charges. (Hans Amancio)
Cell phone robbery foiled
A man was arrested after allegedly stealing a cell phone inside a store Saturday in Binondo, Manila.
Police reports identified the suspect as Aries Ramos, 39, of 1123 Esmeralda St., Tondo, Manila. Ramos is reportedly a member of the Sputnik Gang.
Initial investigation revealed that store owner Dingoy Dais, 26, of 753 Int. 30 Raxabago St., Tondo, Manila was manning his store located along Soler St. near corner CM Recto Avenue, Binondo, Manila at around 7:15 p.m. on March 31.
Dais reportedly asked his assistant to tend the store as he went out to buy food. After a few minutes, the suspect arrived and posed as a customer.
The suspect then reportedly picked up a cell phone that was being charged and tried to leave the premises with the item. The assistant however noticed the suspect and accosted him until Dais arrived.
Dais and his assistant then turned the suspect over to the Soler Police Community Precinct.
Authorities recovered an OPPO phone worth P7,000 from the suspect, who is now under the custody of Meisic Police Station. (Hans Amancio)
