Tae Won Ha of Korea and local bet Ayeesha Ong ruled the boys and girls 15-18 years old bracket during the recent mini-tournament in the U.S. College Camp (USCC) at the Orchard Golf and Country Club.
Ha emerged champion after posting a three-day total of 219, beating Jed Dy (222) and Josh Jorge (226), while Ong beat her lone opponent Jona Magcalayo in the event that was held after the summer camp.
Other winners in the tournament are Dylan Thomas Castillo (boys 11-12), Patrick Gene Tambalque (boys 9-10), Jody Cassandra Catillo (girls’ 11-12), Stevie Umali (girls 9-10), and Nicole Francesca Gan in girls 7-8.
US NCAA Division I coaches Richard Church, the golf director for men’s and women’s at the Southern Utah University, and Lisa Strom, the women’s head coach at Texas State University, took part in three-day camp as trainers for 56 participants.
The tournament also earned participants World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), Junior Golf Scoreboard (JGS) ranking and Global Junior Golf Ranking (GJGS).
