DPWH completes 2 road improvement projects in Sultan Kudarat

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed two road improvement projects in Sultan Kudarat,

DPWH Secretary Roger Mercado said the project was funded with P51 million sourced from the 2021 General Appropriations Act (GAA).

Completed was the 3.25 kilometer-lane asphalt overlay along Kidapawan-Allah Junction Road in Tacurong City and the 2.97-lane kilometer asphalt overlay along Marbel-Allah Valley-Cotabato Road in Barangay Dansuli, Isulan.

“Asphalt overlay is part of the Department’s standard preventive maintenance to preclude deterioration and eventually extend the life span of national roads," said Mercado.

Asphalt prevents surface water from entering and weakening the underlying pavement of the roads, providing long-term ease of access for residents and visitors traveling to nearby towns and tourist attractions.
