The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) raised a red tide alert on Tuesday in provinces where shellfish were positive for paralytic shellfish poison beyond the regulatory limit.
BFAR said all types of shellfish and acetes or alamang (tiny shrimps) gathered from these areas are not safe for human consumption:
- Palawan
- Puerto Princesa Bay
- Puerto Princesa City
- Bohol
- Dauis
- Tagbilaran City
- Western Samar
- Irong-irong Bay
- San Pedro Bay
- Leyte
- Cancato Bay
- Carigara Bay
- Tacloban City
- Surigao del Sur
- Lianga Bay
