BAGUIO CITY – City Mayor Benjamin Magalong announced that the city will be restricting the entry of residents from Itogon town into Baguio City, starting Tuesday, November 3, in response to the alarming increase in the number of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the Benguet town.

He also said that residents of Baguio City will also be restricted from entering the municipality.
Magalong said that he and Mayor Victor Palangdan agreed that Baguio City should temporarily restrict ingress and egress of Itogon residents into the city.
“This will give the municipal government of Itogon time to recalibrate their COVID-19 response measures as they continue with their expanded testing operations,” Magalong said.
The restriction starts at 12 noon, November 3, and will last until November 15. The period may be extended, if the COVID-19 situation is not controlled.
He said only Itogon residents or workers, who are Authorized Persons Outside Residents (APORs), will be allowed to enter and leave the city, provided that they present valid government identification proving address in Itogon, Benguet; proof of employment or business in Baguio City – Company ID, Certificate of Employment, Business Permit, and the like; medical certificate issued by the Municipal Health Office of Itogon, stating that the worker is neither a possible, probable, or suspect case of COVID-19, and that the person has not exhibited flu-like symptoms in the last seven days.
Magalong said, in case the worker does not have a medical certificate, the person will be directed to the city's Central Triage Unit at the Baguio Convention Center for health assessment.
For Itogon residents needing medical attention; he or she should present their valid ID and doctor’s referral slip, confirmation of medical appointment, and the like.
Magalong also cautioned Baguio residents to limit their travels to Itogon, while offices and establishments, which have employees and workers residing in Itogon are urged to implement work-from-home or alternative work arrangements during the restriction period.
