MARIVELES, Bataan – Ferry boats from Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) to Mall of Asia (MOA) are now sailing serving passengers and bringing this industrial town nearer to Metro Manila as it will travel only one and a half hours.

Trips by land from this town to MOA will take at least five hours or more with the worsening monstrous traffic jam in Manila.
The opening of the ferry boat service is another project of the provincial government led by Gov. Abet S. Garcia who tapped the help of businessman Goody Ilagan, through a public, private, partnership (PPP), in their bid to help the public.
This is the third ferry boat service opened up for the public by Ilagan, who owns the famous world-class resort hotel in nearby Barangay Biaan, after putting up the Camaya-MOA and Port of Orion-MOA trips.
A fully air-conditioned luxury boat, the MV XGC Cruiser can accommodate 100 passengers.
“This ferry service is actually more on public service as it is not making money; I just answered the call of Governor Garcia to put up this service for the benefit of the commuting traders and the public,” said Ilagan in an earlier interview with this writer.
The putting up of the ferry boat will not only benefit the investors and residents of FAB and Mariveles, but will also bring in more tourists that will further boost development and tourism here.
First trip is at 11:30 a.m. from the FAB terminal to Esplanade Seaside Terminal (EST) at MOA; next trip is at 2:00 p.m. from MOA to FAB Terminal.
The soft opening of the ferry was also graced by Vice Gov. Ma. Cristina Garcia, Mariveles Mayor Ace Jello Concepcion, Camaya Coast president and CEO Manuel Carlos “Goody” Ilagan Jr., FAB chairman Engr. Emmanuel Pineda, and other officials of the provincial government of Bataan.
