LRTA eyes resumption of train service in Anonas to Santolan

By Noreen Jazul The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) on Tuesday said it will resume partial train operations in Anonas, Katipunan, and Santolan stations by the end of May or June 2020. Hernando Cabrera said "provisional services" can be resumed in the three stations which were affected by the fire which hit LRT line 2's power supply transformer. "Based sa latest activities sa procurement at mga kailangan na mga gamit at gagawin doon sa mga nasira at nasunog nating equipment sa ating mga rectifiers nakita nila na pwede magkaroon tayo ng provisional services," Cabrera told DZMM radio Tuesday. Cabrera said “provisional service” means that trains will operate but not in "full power capacity." "Mabagal ang takbo ng ating mga tren...between Santolan hanggang Anonas," he said. "Maya't maya kailangan natin i-control ang movement ng ating tren," he added. The trains from Santolan to Anonas and vice versa will run on normal operation hours.
