500 families left homeless in Happyland, Tondo fire

(Photo by Jansen Romero / MANILA BULLETIN) According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Manila, the blaze was reported at first alarm at about 7:31 a.m. and quickly reached Task Force Alpha in less than 30 minutes. The fire was declared under control at around 9:36 a.m. and was put out at around 9:41 a.m. The BFP-Manila said damages are estimated to be worth around P1.2 million. No casualties or persons injured were reported in the fire. The Manila City government said the displaced families were given temporary shelter at the Vicente Lim and Amado Hernandez elementary schools in Tondo. Investigation is ongoing.
