IBA, ZAMBALES - The Zambales provincial health office (PHO) here announced the deaths of two persons under investigation (PUI) who had tested negative for COVID-19.
The first case, a 72-year old male, from San Marcelino Zambales, complained about difficulty of breathing and chest pain when he was admitted at President Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Hospital (PRMMH).
He was declared as a PUI upon admission on April 2. Test results findings obtained on April 4 showed he had tested negative from the disease. The cause of his death was attributed to hypertension and heart failure.
The second case was a six-month old female infant from Masinloc, Zambales. She had diarrhea and difficulty of breathing upon check-up at Masinloc Rural Health Unit on March 31.
She was examined at the Candelaria District Hospital and diagnosed with severe pneumonia and dehydration due to colon infection. She was transferred to PRMMH where she died due to complications.
The recent positive case identified by the Zambales PHO involved a 45-year old male from San Felipe, Zambales with a travel history from South America. He travelled from Bridgetown, Barbados and took connecting flights on March 18-20 from London to Qatar and Calrk Field in Angeles City, Pampanga.
On March 27, he exhibited symptoms of disease and he was admitted at PRMMH.
To date, Zambales has seven confirmed cases with one death due to COVID-19. There are 296 PUI and 14, 196 persons under monitoring (PUM).
