The Supreme Court (SC) has yet to determine and announce the date of the release of the results of the 2019 bar examinations, Associate Justice Estela M. Perlas Bernabe, chair of the bar examinations committee, said on Thursday afternoon (April 2).
Supreme Court of the Philippines (MANILA BULLETIN)
Bernabe, in a statement released by the SC’s public information office (PIO), said:
“There is a spurious document currently circulating in social media and in various electronic messaging platforms stating that the results of the 2019 Bar Examinations will be released on a certain date.
“As Chairperson of the 2019 Bar Examination, I categorically state that the information is false and that the Court En Banc is yet to meet to decide on the date of the release of the results. The Supreme Court will only release official documents and information relative to the Bar Examinations only through its Public Information Office (PIO).
“Rest assured, this incident is being thoroughly investigated, and those found responsible shall be accordingly dealt with.”
The 2019 bar examinations were given in four Sundays of November last year.
On the third day of the 2019 bar examinations on November 17 at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Manila, only 7,691 law graduates were qualified to take the examinations administered yearly by the SC.
This was because 554 examinees out of the 8,245 law graduates earlier accredited by the SC failed to show up on the first day of the examinations last November 3, or failed to take the tests in three of the four subjects scheduled on the first two days of the tests.
If a law graduate fails to take any of the eight subjects in the examinations, he or she is automatically disqualified for the entire examinations.
It was not known immediately how many law graduates actually finished the examinations on the last day of the examinations on November 24.
