Xyriel Manabat recalls taking legal action over 'sexual assault'

Xyriel Manabat revealed being a victim of "sexual assault" online. In a recent video of Star Magic on YouTube, the 19-year-old recalled, “Ginagamit nila yung picture ko. Tapos ine-edit nila na parang nakahawak sila sa private part ko, ganon." Then there were the comments. "Yung mga comment dun parang bina-validate na: ‘E, kasi ganyan naman ang suot, e.’ Dyina-justify na: ‘E, kamanyak-manyak naman kasi talaga, e,’” she vividly remembered. "Binabastos po nila ako and ino-objectify. Sine-sexual assault nila ako in a way. And hindi po yun dapat pinapalampas,” she related.
She actually took legal action against the rude fans. She also underwent therapy for a month. “Kasi kailangan kong i-prioritize ang mental health ko, kasi hindi talaga helpful yung mga ganong nakikita ko,” she related.
Xyriel revealed how she would cry foul over the online harassment. “Kasi ayoko ng nagpapatalo ako kapag ako yung nasa tama. Marami po akong binangga na alam kong kailangan kong i-educate, especially yung close-minded persons.” Xyriel rose to fame in 2009 after placing 3rd Runner-Up in "Star Circle Quest: Search for the Next Kiddie Idol." She has appeared in many teleseryes since.
