Navotas LGU, TESDA offer free online baking courses

The local government of Navotas has partnered with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to offer free online baking training to help residents learn new skills and start their own business while in the safety and comfort of their homes.

A total of 100 residents will be qualified for the one-day online training of TESDA's bread, donut, and noodle making.

Irish Cubillan, head of the city's public information office, said enrollees do not have to worry about purchasing the ingredients needed as they will be "provided by TESDA" for free.

She added, those who are interested may apply through the Navotas Vocational Training and Assessment (NAVOTAAS) Institute.

"Ipapadala ng NAVOTAAS Institute sa barangay ang ingredients ng mga naunang enrollees...para doon nila kunin. Pag nasa kanila na lahat, saka na i-set ang schedule ng online training (NAVOTAAS Institue will deliver the free ingredients to the enrollees through their barangays, where they can get them. Once they have the ingredients, they will be scheduled for online training)," she said.

Cubillan added that "an entrepreneurship seminar" will then be offered to the enrollees, so they may start their own business.
