Philippine Airlines issues advisory

Philippine Airlines (PAL) is cancelled the following flights to and from Osaka Kansai, Japan, scheduled for yesterday, due to the temporary closure of Kansai International Airport, which has been affected by flooding and a closure of the access bridge to the mainland. These are in addition to the earlier announced cancellation of all flights to/from Osaka Kansai for Sept. 4, 2018. •Kansai-Manila-Kansai (PR407/408) •Cebu-Kansai-Cebu (PR410/409) •Taipei-Kansai-Taipei (PR896/897) Flights to Taipei on Sept. 5 – Manila-Taipei (PR896) and Taipei-Manila (PR897) – will operate according to schedule. PAL anticipates more disruptions to its flights to Kansai as the effects of super typhoon Jebi take its toll on Osaka and its environs. PAL will advise passengers on any further updates on the status of the regular and/or replacement flights originally scheduled for today, that have now been cancelled. Land transport to Kansai Airport from Osaka City has been cut after a tanker ship was blown by strong winds and hit the connecting bridge. We are now awaiting updates on when the Kansai Airport will be re-opened to accept flights. Passengers of cancelled flights will be rebooked on the next available flights or replacement flights, if any; or may choose to be rerouted via other suitable airports in Japan. They will be notified via email, telephone call and/or text message. Passengers who booked through travel agents are advised to check with them on their new flight schedules, as not all travel agents have given PAL the contact details of their client passengers.
