Kim Dong-yoon, a member of rookie K-pop boy band Spectrum and former contestant on the reality talent show “Mix Nine,” passed away on July 27, according to his agency. He was 20.

Wynn Entertainment announced his passing on the group’s fan cafe but did not reveal the cause of his death.
“All bereaved family members, Spectrum members and the entire staff at Wynn Entertainment are mourning with a heavy heart,” it said. “We are sorry to deliver the sad news to Dong-yoon’s fans who truly loved and encouraged him.”
It added that according to the family’s wishes, the funeral will be held privately.
Kim Dong-yoon, who was born on June 3, 1998, became a contestant on “Mix Nine,” a reality TV show aiming to debut an idol group that ran from October 2017 to January this year.
After appearing on the show, he debuted last May in the seven-member group Spectrum together with Jaehan, Minjae, Donggyu, Hwarang, Villain and Eunjoon. They released their debut album “Be Born” that featured the carrier song “Light It Up.”
A day before his death, the official Twitter and Instagram accounts of Spectrum even uploaded photos of him on July 26.
