Coast guard trainee arrested for rape charges in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY -- A coast guard trainee, tagged as the fifth most wanted person in Zamboanga City, was arrested for three counts of rape charges in Zamboanga City on Tuesday, March 14. Police Maj. Shellamie Chang identified the suspect as Ashurkan Janang Arap, 27, a resident of Barangay San Roque, Zamboanga City. Arap was arrested by personnel from Zamboanga City Police Station 11, Regional Intelligence Unit-9, Zamboanga City Mobile Force Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion-0 and Coast Guard District Western Mindanao during a law enforcement operation in Barangay Talisayan. Arap is facing three counts of rape as contained in a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court in Zamboanga City. No bail was recommended for a temporary liberty of Arap who was placed under the custody of Zamboanga City Police Station 11.
