Rachelle Ann Go returns to West End, reprises role in 'Les Miserables'

Filipino thespian Rachelle Ann Go is back in London to reprise her role of Fantine in the musical "Les Miserables." The 33-year-old shared on Instagram her character's look on her first day in West End. "I’m back @lesmizofficial Last night was fun but nerve-wracking I’ll be blonde for the next 7 weeks then back in July!" she wrote as caption to her mirror selfie photos in costume as Fantine. The United Kingdom's production at Sondheim Theater also shared that picture on their official Instagram account. "Last night we welcomed back @gorachelleann to #LesMiz London! She will be performing the role of Fantine up to 18 April and then will be back from 27 July," the text read. https://www.instagram.com/p/B9RH8yLHBfq/ Rachelle will play Fantine for a certain time while from April 20 to July 25, English actress Carrie Hope Fletcher takes over. The Filipino singer-actress has performed in various hit musicals in the Philippines, London's West End and on Broadway. Her debut was in "The Little Mermaid," playing the role of Ariel in 2011, for which she won a Best Actress award from Broadway World Philippine Awards; and another in 2013 for "Tarzan," playing the role of Jane Porter. Her theater career continues as she was cast in the 2014 West End revival of the hit musical "Miss Saigon," for the role of Gigi Van Tranh. Following this, she was cast in the 30th-anniversary staging of "Les Miserables" in the role of Fantine. She then made her Broadway debut reprising the role of Gigi in the Broadway revival of "Miss Saigon" in March 2017, then in the same year until 2019 she played the role of Eliza Hamilton in the original West End production of "Hamilton."
