Veteran actor Eddie “Manoy” Garcia is now reportedly conscious following the bad fall he suffered while in location in Tondo, Manila, Saturday morning, working supposedly on a teleserye for GMA-7. In a Facebook post, entertainment columnist, Leo Bukas, said the 94-year-old was quickly rushed to the Mary Johnston Hospital. “Let’s all pray and hope na maging okey ang kalagayan ni Manoy Eddie Garcia,” he wrote. Veteran writer and graphic arts designer, Dave Rojo, also posted the same on Facebook as with director Arman Reyes. Actress Vivian Velez added the actor was in “critical condition.” No further details have been released as of this writing. Garcia started his career in the movie “Siete Infantes de Lara” in 1949.  Also a director, he directed his first project “Karaugtong Ng Kahapon” in 1961. With over 400 films under his belt, he is the only individual inducted in three categories in the FAMAS Hall of Fame: Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Director. His other notable films are “Atsay,” Bwakaw,” “Aguila,” “Magnum .357,” “Masamang Ugat,” “Mariano Mison,” and “Rainbow Sunset,” in which he was helmed as Best Actor at the 52nd Annual WorldFest in Houston, Texas. He was recently given recognition by the PMPC Star Awards for his unforgettable and remarkable contributions to Philippine Cinema. He was among the 12 iconic names in showbiz included in “Mga Natatanging Bituin Ng Siglo.”
