LTFRB orders immediate resolution of colorum, fake documents cases
The resolution of cases involving colorum vehicles and presentation of fake documents will now be expedited as the Land Transportation and Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has issued a resolution that requires immediate action on such violations.
In a statement, the LTFRB said Board Resolution No. 008 Series of 2023 it approved will not empower the Chief of the Legal Division of the Board to sign and approve all orders or resolutions for Inspection Report Summons (IRS) apprehension cases which are admitted and uncontested by the respondents.
Those cases include Colorum Violation, and Fraud and Falsities such as presentation of fake and spurious Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC), Official Receipt/Certificate of Registration (OR/CR), plates, stickers and tags, in Inspection Report Summons (IRS) apprehension cases, which were previously exempted under Board Resolution No. 190, Series of 2022 issued last December 27, 2022.
“The Board Resolution will help expedite the disposition of apprehension cases and reduce red tape,” said LTFRB Chairman Teofilo Guadiz III,
“We included colorum and fake CPCs in the list of IRS apprehension cases because the commuting public deserves it. By expanding the list of IRS apprehension cases, it also helps the Board reduce the level of case resolution backlogs for speedy delivery of service, which is what RA 11032 is all about,” he added.
