Parks plays limited minutes in Nagoya's first win

Ray Parks Jr. played limited minutes for the second straight game but the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins finally produced their first B.League win after defeating the Hiroshima Dragonflies, 87-77, Sunday, Oct. 10 at the Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium in Nagoya, Japan.

Parks scored just one point and added one rebound, one assist, and one steal in 11 minutes for the Dragons, who split their two-game set with the Dragonflies to end a 0-3 start in the 2021-22 season.

Nagoya also handed visiting Hiroshima its first loss after three straight victories to begin the campaign.

His output came a day after Parks produced two points, three rebounds, three assists, and one steal during a 13-minute appearance that ended with the Diamond Dolphins absorbing a 98-90 defeat.

The former PBA player didn’t see action in Nagoya’s first two matches the previous weekend due to a muscle strain suffered in practice.

Parks and the Diamond Dolphins next face the Toyama Grouses, who could have Gilas Pilipinas mainstay Dwight Ramos in uniform for the two matches set Oct. 16 and 17.

Ramos has yet to see action for the Grouses due to a mandatory 14-day quarantine for those arriving in Japan.
