“Nagkaroon kasi ng bilgang appointment. Depende lang kasi ’yun sa schedule ni CJ. Kaya ngayon kasi, medyo maluwag siya kaya sila pinatawag (It was a sudden appointment. It was dependent on the schedule of the Chief Justice. Her schedule was free today, so they were called),” a court employee said about the judges’ appointment with De Castro.
As such, the scheduled afternoon hearings of the judges for that day were suspended. RTC personnel said the invitation from the Chief Justice was received by the judges on Wednesday.
Executive Judge Elmo Alameda of Branch 150 and Judge Andres Bartolome Soriano of Branch 148 were seen leaving their offices in the afternoon.
Reporters were there waiting for Soriano’s resolution on the DOJ motion on Trillanes’ case.
Apparently, they were heading to the SC.
On September 25, Alameda favored the motion of the Department of Justice (DOJ), which sought for an arrest warrant and HDO against the senator.
Meanwhile, Soriano has yet to release a resolution on the similar DOJ motion.
Branch 150 handles rebellion, while Branch 148 coup d'etat.
The employees said that all judges in the metropolis go to the SC for a courtesy call, saying it just so happened that Makati was promptly scheduled on Thursday afternoon.
