Marcos Jr. urges Pinoys: 'Display PH flag at all times'
As the celebration of the anniversary of the country's independence drew near, President-elect Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. urged homes and government and business establishments to display the Philippine flag at all times, saying this is a good reminder of the people's love for their country.

Marcos Jr. said this days ahead of the Philippines' 124th Independence Day on June 12, Sunday. The theme for this year's celebration is "Kalayaan 2022: Pag-suong sa Hamon Ng Panibagong Bukas (Rise Towards The Challenge Of A New Beginning)."
In his vlog uploaded to YouTube on June 4, Marcos Jr. agreed with Filipinos on social media about the importance of displaying the Philippine flag.
"I agree with you all. We should encourage all those establishments -- business and government -- magpakita, ipagmalaki ang bandila ng Pilipinas (to display and take pride in our country's flag)," he said.
He added that the flag should be displayed at all times, not just during Independence Day.
"I think that there is nothing wrong, whatsoever, in displaying our flag hindi lamang pag parating na ang Independence Day. Maglagay tayo sa ating mga bahay ng bandila (not just when Independence Day comes. We should display the flag in our houses)," Marcos Jr. said.
"Meron nga akong mga kilala naglagay ng flag pole doon sa kanilang bahay at nagfa-flag-raising sila araw-araw (I even know someone who erected a flag pole in their house and they have a flag-raising ceremony everyday)," he added.
Marcos Jr. said displaying the country's flag will remind everyone, especially the youth, to love their country.
"I think this is a good reminder, lalong-lalo na sa mga kabataan, na alalahanin lagi, at lagi nilang iniisip ang ating minamahal na Pilipinas (especially to the kids, to always remember and love the Philippines)," he said.
