Alex Eala propelled to a career-high No. 252 in the latest Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings following her impressive showing in the W80 Rancho Santa Fe in California last week.

The 17-year-old Eala jumped 29 places from No. 281 last week after finishing in the quarterfinals in the said $80,000 tournament.
She had to go through the two-round qualifiers to earn a main draw berth and defeat some more experienced rivals heading to the Last 8.
The junior tennis sensation also made it to the second round of W60 Templeton also in California this month.
Eala’s previous career best was at No. 280 back in August.
