Meralco announces schedule of brownouts in Metro Manila

By Richa Noriega The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) announced on Friday that there will be scheduled power interruption in some parts of Metro Manila from July 8-14. (JANSEN ROMERO / MANILA BULLETIN / FILE) (JANSEN ROMERO / MANILA BULLETIN / FILE) According to Meralco, the areas of Pasig City, Quezon City and Taguig City will experience power interruption for preventive maintenance for upgrading, and replacement of rotten wooden poles. On Tuesday (July 9) between 11:30 pm and between 4:30 am Wednesday (July 10) Cubao, Quezon City will experience power interruption. Meralco identified the following areas as the ones that will be affected by the brownout: Portion of Irid St. from near Mayor I. S. Diaz St. to and including New Arayat Market in Bgy. San Martin De Porres. From Wednesday to Thursday (July 10-11), it will be Pasig City’s turn to have a power interruption between 11:30 pm (July 10) and 4:30 am (Thursday). Meralco identified the following areas as the ones that will be affected by the brownout: Portion of GSIS Road from Jenny’s Ave. to Manggahan West Bank Road; Dama De Noche St. from Ilang-Ilang St. to and including Camia and Lirio Sts. in De Castro Subd.; and Doña Juliana I Subd. Lastly, on Thursday (July 11) Taguig City will experience power interruption between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm. Meralco identified the following areas as the ones that will be affected by the brownout: Portion of Hermosa St. from La Habla St. to and including Monterey, Cerritos and Lomita Sts. in Mahogany Place Subd. Phase 1, Bgy. Bambang. Meralco advised the public to be aware of the scheduled power interruptions.
