EARIST grad tops Architecture Licensure Examination; UST registers highest passing rate

By Richa Noriega A graduate of Eulogio (Amang) Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST) in Manila topped the Architecture Licensure Examination (ALE), the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on Thursday. Out of the 2,104 passers, John Vincent Rojo Lopez secured the highest rating of 84.90%. A total of 3,172 took the examination last June 28 and 30. Lopez is followed by Ben John Canonigo Lazo of University of Pangasinan (2nd, 84.50%), Jillianne Salinas Espinosa and Marc Chialor Bance Orgado of University of Santo Tomas (3rd, 84.30%), Audrey Eunice Diola Rillorta of Saint Louis University (4th, 83.90%), Miko Angelo De Jesus Balverde of Far Eastern University-Manila, Joevince Neil Sanchez Gacus of University of Mindanao-Davao City and Redentor Lobo Mirano Jr. of Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University (5th, 83.30). Others in the top ten are the following: Grace Evangeline Magangat Piaga of Saint Louis University (6th, 83.10%), Jennica Presilda Curato of University of San Carlos and Paulo Zabala David of University of Santo Tomas (7th, 83%), Criselle Ong Chua of University of Santo Tomas and Neil Judd Caldit Consuelo of Bicol University-Legazpi (8th, 82.90%), Joseph Mari Dayupay Fantonial of Cebu Institute of Technology University (9th, 82.80), Frank Lloyd Palaganas Tulagan of Saint Louis University and Ethan Bryce Cromente Zerna of University of Mindanao-Davo City (10th, 82.70). Meanwhile, University of Santo Tomas (UST) emerged as the lone top-performing school with the passing rate of 92.86%. University of San Carlos (89.67%) followed at second place while De La Salle University-College of Saint Benilde (85.45%) ranked third. The PRC requires at least 50 examinees and with at least 80% of passing rate to be declared as top performing school. The examinations were given in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cebu, Davao, Legazpi and Zamboanga and were administered by the Board of Architecture headed by Chairman Arch. Robert S. Sac and board member Arch. Robert M. Mirafuente. The dates and venues for oath taking ceremonies have yet to be announced.
