"Jeepney driver nyo noon, graduate na ngayon (Your former jeepney driver has graduated)."
After five years of being a jeepney driver, this young man has finally donned his graduation toga.

Marvin Padilla Daludado, a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Information Technology at the University of the East Caloocan, shared he started working as a jeepney driver when he was just 17 years old.
"Nung una ayaw pa nun ng mga magulang ko mamasada ako kasi sobrang totoy ko pa nun. Yung tipong hinahanap ng pasahero kung nasaan yung driver dahil di nila ako makita at yung iba na matatanda natatakot at tinatanong kung marunong daw ba talaga ako mag-drive (At first, my parents didn't want me to drive a jeepney because I was still very young then. Some passengers couldn't see me, they were always looking for me and there were also some drivers who were scared because they thought I didn't know how to drive)," Daludado said.
He said he still pursued working to pay for his tuition.
"Yung hindi ko paghingi ng baon sa aking mga magulang at mga gastusin sa school like projects ay malaking tulong na para sa kanila at pag may sumobra pa sa aking kita ay sinasagot ko yung ibang tuition fee ko dahil di lang naman ako yung pinag-aaral ng mga magulang ko (I didn't ask my parents for money for my school expenses and projects, it was a really big help for them. If I had extra money from my income, I would pay my tuition fee, because I'm not the only one studying in our family)," he added.

"5 a.m. ay bumabyahe na ako para may pambaon dahil may pasok pa ako ng 8 a.m. At pag sinipag-sipag at pag may school projects na kailangan pagkagastusan pagkagaling sa school ay pumapasada pa rin ako dahil kailangan (I am already working as early as 5 a.m. so I could have allowance for my class at 8 a.m. When I have school projects that need to be paid, I also work after school because I need to)."
Now that he has graduated, Daludado said he plans to work in an IT company. However, he also cited difficulties in finding job vacancies because of the pandemic.
He is hoping in the meantime to open his own business to help his siblings' studies.
"I intend to help my fellow jeepney drivers not by monetary means but through sharing my plans/suggestions to every cooperative/jeepney organization to build a program where jeepney drivers can benefit and help them improve their living," he said.
Daludado said he enjoyed his job as a jeepney driver and thanked every traffic enforcer, jeepney driver, and passenger who helped him along the way.
"Graduate na ako pati sa pagiging jeepney driver salamat sa mga naging pamasahe nyo (I also graduated as a jeepney driver thanks to all your fares."
