POCO F1 by Xiaomi: The Latest Steal In The Market

By Brian Yalung pocof1-blk-1 Xiaomi has been notorious for unleashing power-packed budget phones and the latest one to land on Philippine soil is the Pocophone F1 or the POCO F1. On the outside the new smartphone positions itself wisely among the semi-phablet mix sporting a wide 6.18-inch LCD display (2246x1080 resolution, 18.7:9 aspect ratio) with bezels enshrined around the handset and encased in a plastic shell. From afar, the POCO F1 seems like any standard Android-powered device in the market. But the real story of this latest Xiaomi handset is really the power from within. The Pocophone F1 should have more than enough power, backed by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with 6 GB of RAM (an 8 GB of RAM is also available). The version that arrived at the MB Tech Lab comes with a default internet storage of 64 GB although there is also a 128 GB option for folks who need bigger space. Do take note that the phone does offer provisions for additional storage of up to 256 GB via microSD. Other key features of the POCO F1 include fast-charging via USB-C capability, 3.5 mm stereo jacks, dual-SIM support and runs MIUI Global 9.6 (Stable 9.6.14.0) on Android Oreo 8.1 out of the box. A 4,000 mAh battery is tasked to make sure that the device is all juiced up through the day. Also and with most consumers paying close attention to the built-in cameras, the POCO F1 offers a 12 MP main camera and a front-facing 5 MP camera. Seeing how the megapixel count matters nowadays, the Pocophone F1 does offer decent shots that should entice any eventual owner to share captured photos and videos with friends or even via their social media account. The good thing about Xiaomi is that it has built a notion among smartphone buyers as a sensible buy without worrying about being shortchanged in features. The Pocophone F1, a new name that many will have to get used to is only normal. Being another phone from the Xiaomi line, the winners here are the end-users who get another option to satisfy their budget-friendly smartphone rants.
