BAUAN, Batangas — At least 60 students of Bauan Technical High School, a public school here, were brought to different hospitals after they experienced hyperventilation due to hot weather condition.

Bauan police chief Lt.Col. Joemar Laviano said students from different classes felt excessive breathing and eventually lost consciousness at around 10:00 in the morning.
Students who were all from junior high school were rushed to Bauan Doctor’s Hospital, Bauan General Hospital, and other hospitals in Bauan town. Classes were suspended due to the incident.
The police have yet to confirm if there were students who were brought to the hospital in Batangas City.
Laviano said almost the same number of students also fainted while the school was conducting an earthquake drill past 2:00 p.m. Friday.
Some were taken to the hospital while others were advised to go home. All students were taken home safe, Lavaiano added.
