Try it, it works! Facebook complaint leads to DPWH road repair in Valenzuela

The public can report any damaged roads in their area to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) online for immediate repair.

No, really! According to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, the agency was able to fix the potholes along Mindanao Avenue corner Sto. Rosario Street in Valenzuela City through reports from netizens who requested them to repair the damaged road.

"This road is a subject of report coursed through the DPWH Facebook Page on the third week of February 2021 requesting us to repair the damaged road portion that could potentially damage cars," Villar shared.

Maintenance teams from the DPWH's Metro Manila Third District Engineering Office and the local government unit immediately conducted pothole-patching in the area.

Under the leadership of Villar, the DPWH has been using the established mechanisms for citizen feedback for more efficient and public-responsive services.

"Despite the challenge of meeting all citizen expectations who see every roads daily, one cannot help feeling inspired for the immediate appropriate responses and solutions provided by DPWH given our limited manpower resources," he said.
