PPCRV parallel count surpasses 70 percent of total election returns

(ALI VICOY / MANILA BULLETIN) PPCRV Executive Director Maribel Buenaobra said 63,053 or 73.51 percent of the 85,769 election returns are now with the poll watchdog group as of 1 p.m. on Saturday. The match rate between the physical returns and the electronically transmitted returns is at 99.995 percent, Buenaobra added. PPCRV volunteers manually encode the fourth copy of the election returns which are sent to the poll watchdog group's command center at Pope Pius XII Catholic Center at U.N. Avenue in Manila. The encoded data and the electronically transmitted returns are then matched to ensure that there are no discrepancies. Meanwhile, the audit of 294 out of the 715 randomly selected sample clustered precincts have been completed at about 12 p.m. on Saturday, 10 days after the start of the random manual audit (RMA), said Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Luie Tito Guia. Through the RMA, votes from randomly selected clustered precincts are manually counted and compared with the automated tally. Members of the Legal Network for Free Elections (LENTE), the Comelec, the Department of Education-National Capital Region (DepEd-NCR), and the Philippine Statistics Authority conduct the RMA at the Diamond Hotel. #MatalinongBoto2019
