Japan has opened its doors to nurses and care workers to fill up a total of 350 job vacancies at the Japan International Corporation of Welfare Services.

The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) announced Monday that it is now accepting applicants for nurses and care workers for deployment in Japan under the Framework for the Movement of Natural Persons of the Philippines-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA).
According to POEA, the Japan International Corporation of Welfare Services needs qualified applicants to fill up vacancies for 50 nurses or “kangoshi” and 300 care workers or “kaigofukushishi.”
Applicant nurses must be a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing, with Professional Regulation Commission board license, and at least three years hospital experience in order to qualify for the job.. Applicants must be motivated and committed to work and study as a candidate for “Kangoshi” to obtain a national license in Japan, POEA said.
Nurses to be hired shall first complete a six-month onsite Japanese language training and an on-the-job training at their respective hospitals.
They should also be able to pass the licensure examination, which they can take thrice, in Japan before they can work as registered nurses there.
Care worker applicants, on the other hand, must be a graduate of any four-year course, or a graduate of a program in care giving at the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority with a National Certificate II (NCII),or a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing with or without PRC license.
They will also be required to complete a six-month onsite language training. In order to take the national examination for caregivers to be able to work in Japan indefinitely, they need to work on-the-job for at least three years.
Applicants can submit their application until April 30, POEA said.
