Heart Evangelista's mom on daughter's alleged marital woes

Cecile Ongpauco, the mother of actress Heart Evangelista, has reacted to rumors that her daughter and the latter's husband Chiz Escudero are having a marital problem.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Cecile said, “It’s their private life so I am just praying for them. I know they will be okay."

She added, "I’ve known Chiz to be a mature and grounded person that’s why I am happy for my daughter.”

Cecile cleared she actually doesn't know if the two indeed have marital issues, relating she has not spoken to both.

Meanwhile, Heart's home network, GMA, recently issued a disclaimer following reports that it is supposed to release a statement relating to the alleged breakup.

Note that rumor about Heart and Chiz supposedly having already split has been going around for quite some time now.

It started after netizens noticed that Heart removed Escudero as surname on her Instagram account.

Adding fuel to the fire was Heart’s revelation that she’s going through “personal struggles.”
