Mayor Fresnedi wins third term in Muntinlupa

Incumbent Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi cruised to victory for his third term, winning by a wide margin in the May 13 election.

Fresnedi, who ran under the Liberal Party, was proclaimed by the City Board of Canvassers as mayor Tuesday morning, garnering 164,144 votes against rivals Red Mariñas of the National Unity Party (NUP), who got 52,127 votes; Rudy Victa,1,065; and Baby Aguilar, 442.

He won a fresh mandate from voters as he banked on his achievements in the last three years. It will be Fresnedi’s third and final term as Muntinlupa mayor after winning in the 2013 and 2016 polls.

His teammates also won in the election.

Ruffy Biazon garnered 169,756 votes to win his second consecutive term as Muntinlupa representative. Placing second was Rafael Arciaga with 36,317 votes followed by Rodolfo Llorca, 2,326.

Elected as vice mayor was Artemio Simundac who received 116,825 votes against incumbent Celso Dioko, who got 85,889 votes; Rafael Burgos, 3,277; and Timmy Richard Gabriel, 1,799.

Winning as councilors in Muntinlupa’s First District were Raul Corro, 97,183 votes; Alexson Diaz, 91,643; Paty Katy Boncayao, 90,098; Louie Arciaga, 80,886; Allan Camilon, 78,854; Valentino Niefes, 68,715; Phanie Teves, 68,349; and Ivee Arciaga, 63,240.

In the Second District, the new councilors were Nep Santiago, 51,784 votes; Marissa Rongavilla, 48,541; Ryan Bagatsing, 47,069; Lester Baes, 44,119; Dhes Arevalo, 43,063; Jun Sevilla, 42,337; Arlene Hilapo, 39,931; and Eliot Martinez, 38,048.

Thirteen winning councilors were from Team Fresnedi while Teves, Arciaga and Arevalo were from NUP.
