P15-M illegal drugs seized, 5 drug pushers nabbed in weeklong operation in Cordillera

CAMP DANGWA, Benguet -- Over P15 million worth of illegal drugs were seized while five drug personalities were during the weeklong anti-narcotics operations from August 24 to 30.
Throughout the weeklong drive, eight anti-illegal drug operations conducted leading to the destruction of 79,500 fully grown marijuana plants and the seizure of 9.59 grams of shabu, with a total Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P15,965,212.00.
These sustained operations also resulted in the arrest of five individuals involved in the illegal drug trade. Of those apprehended, two are listed as High Value Individuals (HVIs) and three as Street Level Individuals (SLIs).
The most significant accomplishments were recorded in Kalinga, where eradication operations by the Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO) led to the discovery and destruction of 79,500 marijuana plants with an SDP of P15,900,000.00.
This was followed by the Baguio City Police Office, which confiscated 9.02 grams of suspected shabu with an SDP of P61,336.00 and arrested two HVIs and one SLI during separate buy-bust operations.
In Abra, the Abra PPO confiscated 0.47 grams of suspected shabu valued at PhP3,196.00 and arrested one SLI. Rounding out the operations, the Benguet PPO apprehended one SLI and seized 0.10 grams of suspected shabu worth P680.00.
