Sandbagging underway at damaged tail dike in Minalin, Pampanga

MINALIN, Pampanga — Sandbagging operations are underway at a damaged portion of the tail dike in Minalin town as the Pampanga provincial government moves to reinforce the structure and help protect nearby communities from possible flooding.
The provincial government has deployed 500 sandbags to the affected area, with an additional 800 sandbags expected to arrive for the continuing reinforcement work.

The operation was ordered by Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and Vice Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda on Sunday as authorities work to strengthen the damaged section of the dike.
The sandbagging effort will provide immediate protection while authorities continue to assess the condition of the tail dike and monitor surrounding areas.
Residents in communities affected by the damaged structure are advised to remain alert and closely monitor advisories from local disaster response authorities.
The provincial government noted that the ongoing operation is part of efforts to reduce the risk of flooding and ensure the safety of communities amid continued adverse weather conditions.
