SAN MARCELINO, Zambales — A house was damaged after a portion of a dike gave way, sending strong floodwaters into Barangay Sta. Fe amid continuous rains brought by the southwest monsoon, or habagat.
It was fortunate that the family residing in the house was able to evacuate safely before the situation worsened, according to the local government.
The barangay hall and other structures in the area are now under water, prompting authorities and response teams to closely monitor the situation.
San Marcelino Mayor Elvis Ragadio Soria urged residents to prioritize their safety and immediately evacuate to safer areas whenever necessary.
The local government also postponed the scheduled delivery of relief packs to Barangay Sta. Fe on Friday due to the unfavorable weather.
Authorities and response teams continue to monitor developments in Sta. Fe and assess the situation as heavy rains persist in the municipality.
