Marcos mourns passing of former aide-de-camp

President Marcos paid his respects to his former aide-de-camp Maj. Ma. Joshua P. Santiago, whom he described as a brave military officer who served the country with dedication and honor.
Marcos visited the wake of Santiago at the Libingan ng mga Bayani on Thursday, Aug. 27.
In a message he posted on Facebook on Friday, the President said Santiago served as his aide-de-camp and earned his trust through his courage and reliability.
He paid tribute to Santiago’s service, saying it was a privilege to have the soldier by his side.
“I came to know a soldier of courage, an officer I could depend on and, above all, a good man,” he said.
The Chief Executive extended his prayers to Santiago’s family and fellow soldiers as they grieve his death. The details about Santiago's death were not immediately available.
Marcos ended his message with the traditional military farewell, “Fair winds and following seas,” for the fallen officer.
