Central Luzon drug ops net 10 suspects, P2-M shabu

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police arrested 10 drug suspects and seized about P2.03 million worth of shabu in five separate anti‑illegal drug operations in Bataan, Pampanga, Zambales, and Olongapo City from Wednesday, Aug. 26, to the early hours of Thursday, Aug. 27.
The latest operation, carried out at around 3 a.m. Thursday in Barangay Calapacuan, Subic, Zambales, led to the arrest of two suspects, including a high‑value individual (HVI).
Police recovered 53.61 grams of suspected shabu valued at P364,548.
Four other operations were conducted on Wednesday. In Barangay Del Rosario, City of San Fernando, Pampanga, two suspects were arrested at around 11:50 p.m., with approximately 55 grams of suspected shabu worth P374,000 confiscated.
In Abucay, Bataan, police arrested two suspects in Barangay Gabon at around 8:30 p.m. and seized about 80 grams of suspected shabu valued at P544,000.
Meanwhile, two newly identified HVIs were arrested at around 8:15 p.m. in Barangay West Bajac‑Bajac, Olongapo City, where police recovered approximately 58 grams of suspected shabu worth P394,400.
Earlier, at around 4:05 p.m. in Barangay Talimundoc, Orani, Bataan, two suspects were arrested and about 52 grams of suspected shabu valued at P353,600 were confiscated.
PRO3 Regional Director PBGen. Jess B. Mendez said the successive operations highlight the regional police office’s continuing efforts to prevent illegal drugs from reaching communities.
The suspects and recovered evidence were turned over to the respective police units.
Charges for alleged violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared for filing in court.
