Global Dominion Financing Inc. (GDFI) is offering up to ₱100 million in loans to women entrepreneurs, seeking to help bridge the financing gap faced by micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the Philippines.

Dubbed Giving Limitless Opportunities to Women (GLOW), the women-specific loan product allows proceeds to be used as additional capital, to fund lot, vehicle, and equipment purchases, and for business expansion.

GDFI noted that the product excludes start-up capital, suggesting that only existing businesses are eligible for the product.

According to the nonbank lending firm, qualified borrowers include “sole proprietors, partnerships with at least one woman partner, and corporations where a woman serves as a director, stockholder, or authorized representative.”

GDFI enterprise division general manager Eleanor Yap told a press briefing on Wednesday, Aug. 26, that the loan product is designed with preferential rates as low as 0.75 percent, asserting that women are “very smart” spenders.

Yap noted that eligible borrowers could take out loans as high as ₱100 million. Borrowers could enjoy flexible repayment terms, with loans repayable over up to 15 years.

“Women have always been the backbone of so many Filipino businesses and households, yet too many have had to grow without the financial support they deserve. GLOW is our way of changing that narrative,” GDFI President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Samuel Cariño said.

“It aims to help address a persistent gap in the financing landscape, where women-led MSMEs account for an estimated 66 percent of the country’s MSMEs, yet only about four percent have formal access to financing due to strict lending requirements, rigid structures, gender bias, and limited access to collateral,” GDFI said.

Cariño reported that GDFI disbursed ₱6.5 billion worth of loans to MSMEs led by both men and women in 2025.

Loans released under the GLOW program alone stood at ₱1 billion, translating to 3,300 businesses served. Yap said that the lender intends to close the year at ₱2 billion, also roughly doubling the number of clients.

“We built GLOW around how women actually run their businesses, and around the belief that access to capital should come with access to community. That’s the promise we’re making, and one we intend to keep,” Yap said.

GDFI closed 2025 with a ₱16.5-billion loan book, while the nonbank’s assets totaled ₱18.6 billion. Bad loans, or non-performing loans (NPLs), accounted for only 1.58 percent of GDFI’s loan portfolio.

Cariño said that GDFI focuses on where the borrowed money will be used. “For us, it’s very important to finance the real purpose of every entrepreneur. That’s why we’re very supportive of helping women understand the essence of borrowing.”
