Special task force wraps up probe on Zambo City school shooting

ZAMBOANGA CITY- The Special Investigative Task Group (SITG) formed to investigate the fatal school shooting at the Ateneo de Zamboanga University (ADZU) conducted its final case conference on Monday, August 24, and is expected to issue its findings in the coming days.
The task group, led by Police Regional Office-9 Director PBGen Dennis Esguerra, worked closely with the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) and ADZU over the past week to consolidate documents, evidence found at the scene of the crime, testimonies from witnesses and other information relative to the incident.
Meanwhile, the meeting focused on reviewing the progress of the investigation, the circumstances leading to the incident and the possible involvement of parties preparatory for the filing of the proper cases in court.
Parties to be possibly included in the filing of charges have not been identified.
The Task Group said that names of the possible respondents will be made public after charges are filed at the City Prosecutor’s Office.
