KATSEYE is celebrating a major career milestone and making sure its fans get some of the credit.
The global girl group scored its first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with its latest EP, “WILD,” which debuted at the top of the chart.
KATSEYE took to Instagram to thank EYEKONS, the group's fans, for helping push the release to the top.
“EYEKONS, we couldn’t have gotten here without you,” the group wrote. “Thank you so much for listening, sharing, and believing in us.”
The members also admitted that the achievement still feels unreal.
“We’re still pinching ourselves, our first #1 on the Billboard 200??!!” they added.
KATSEYE said seeing “WILD” connect with fans felt like “something from our wildest dreams,” adding, “thank you for being with us every step of the way, we love you more than you know!!”
Billboard reported that “WILD” earned 170,000 equivalent album units in the US during the week ending Aug. 20, according to Luminate.
The release also gave KATSEYE its biggest week yet in both equivalent album units and pure album sales, with 145,000 copies sold. It posted the highest weekly unit total for an all-woman group since the Billboard 200 began using equivalent album units in December 2014.
Released Aug. 14, “WILD” contains five tracks: “Pinky Up,” “Animal,” “Hootie Frutti,” “Bel Air” and “That Way.”
