Ice Seguerra appealed to fans to stop uploading full concert performances online, reminding concertgoers that purchasing a ticket does not give them the right to reproduce or distribute footage of the entire show.

The singer-songwriter made the appeal in a Facebook post on Monday, Aug. 24, following the recent staging of "Sessionistas: The Playlist" at The Theatre at Solaire on Aug. 22.

The concert featured Ice alongside Sitti Navarro, Nyoy Volante, Kean Cipriano, Princess Velasco and Juris, with Ice also serving as the show's director.

While he appreciate fans who record and share memorable moments from concerts, he drew the line at uploading entire performances or lengthy portions of a show.

“When you buy a concert ticket, you're buying the experience of watching the show. You are not buying the right to record the whole thing and upload it to your own YouTube page or social media pages,” Ice wrote.

The singer also emphasized the point in Filipino: “Hindi po dahil nakabili tayo ng ticket, atin na rin ang concert.”

Ice noted that a concert involves the work of numerous people, including artists, musicians, composers, producers, publishers, and crew members.

“That work is protected, and reposting full songs or entire portions of a concert without permission is not simply ‘sharing.’ It is an unauthorized distribution of someone else's work,” Ice said.

Instead, Ice encouraged fans to share photos, short video clips, and their personal reactions to the shows.

“Please share your favorite moments. Post your photos. Post short clips. Tell people what you loved about the show. We appreciate all of that. But please don't upload the concert itself,” he said.

Ice also appealed to fans who have already posted full performances from their shows to take the videos down.

“To those who have uploaded full performances from our shows, I'm asking you to please take them down,” Ice said.

“Support the music. Support the artists,” Ice added.

“Please don't turn our work into content you never had the right to distribute.”

Ice's wife and "Sessionistas: The Playlist" creative director Liza Diño has also addressed the issue, warning that legal action could be pursued against unauthorized uploads.

“We will be protecting the rights of our artists and our productions, and we will take the necessary steps against unauthorized uploads when needed,” Diño said.

She likewise encouraged concertgoers to support artists without reproducing their work without permission, ending her comments with “Support artists by sharing the experience. Please don't steal the work.”
